On November 7, Ryleigh had tubes put in her ears and her adenoids removed. She has had a series of recurrent ear infections and had had fluid in her ears for who knows how long. I just know that every bout of asthma exacerbation lead to fluid in her ears, but they never said the fluid had resolved. Her procedure was done outpatient at a surgery center. The staff at the surgery center was great with her. We offered to get her ice cream or a milk shake on the way home, but she just wanted to sleep. She slept for several hours after we got home, and woke up feeling much better. We figured she'd be bed ridden all weekend, but she was asking to go out to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa the next day.
Before surgery. You can tell she's nervous, but being brave.
After surgery - sleepy and pretty out of it.
Sleeping on the way home.
She can hear much better now. Hasn't had any more issues with her ears since then. We'll see if she has any issues with swimming this summer.
