Went to the doctor on Monday. She weighs 8 pounds, 4 ounces now. She's 21.5 inches long and has a head circumference of 37cm, up from 35 at birth. Overall doctor says she looks good. Her diaper rash was getting worse again (after switching wipes and it clearing up a bit) so he looked at it. Just told us to use diaper rash cream very very liberally and try some naked time during her naps. It's getting better again. Also asked about her inability to sleep on her back for any length of time. He basically told us what we already knew (she'd grow out of it, keep trying to put her down, wait until she's really asleep).
Wednesday we went to Cedars to visit my work. Everyone was excited to see her, and we got lots of comments about how "you don't see (a baby) here everyday". She was very good for the trip. Friday we went to Chris's branch to see people at his work. She was very good and alert most of the time there.
We have started being more diligent about putting her in the cradle as soon as she is asleep. We've tried heating up the mattress a little with a heating pad for about 5 minutes before sticking her in there. It seems to help reduce the shock of the cold mattress a little bit. We've made a little progress. She's taken a few hour or so naps in there, as well as a handful of half hour naps, and even fussed herself to sleep once. She's gonna get used to sleeping in there eventually gosh dang it!
Her cluster feeding has become longer... much longer, which has kinda begun to get a bit stressful. She'll start earlier (around 6, 7 or 8pm instead of 10pm) and still goes to bed around midnight or 1am at the earliest. Instead of feeding for half an hour at each feeding, it's become at least an hour. We still get about 4-5 hours of sleep after her cluster, and about 3-4 after her early morning feeding. If we really want to sleep in we can get about another 2-3 after that feeding if we need it.
That's about all we've been up to. We're getting ready for Thanksgiving. My parents are coming out, and my brothers get to meet Ryleigh for the first time. She gets to meet all my family at Thanksgiving as well. We'll see if she behaves.

Update
Update by popular demand:
Life around here has been busy... doing a lot of nothing, but yet somehow the days seem to fly by.
Chris's parents came this past week for a visit. They were so excited to meet Ryleigh. It was nice to have someone who wanted to hold and spoil her all day. Made me not dread her marathon nights. They even babysat for a few hours so Chris and I could go out to dinner alone. It was nice.
I can't believe Ryleigh is 3 weeks old now! She's turning into a little piglet. Her cluster feeds are now pretty much constant with a brief ten minute cat nap in between. So around midnight it's pretty much feed, burp, change diaper, repeat until about 1 or 2 am. At which point her tank must be full and she sleeps for about 4 hours. Feeds around 4 or 5am and then another 3-4 hours of sleep. Can't complain about the 4 hours of sleep, but the fussing and eating til 2am can be a little stressful.
She's is starting to stay awake more often (contrary to what my parents experienced last week). She'll just sit in her swing and look around. Her cries are less blood curdling scream and have turned into more of a "hey I'm here, I'm hungry, feed me!" She still doesn't like the cradle. No idea what it is about that. We're gonna go back to working on getting her to sleep in there. We kinda gave up on it this week. We did get her to fall asleep in her crib for a nap one day this week somehow.
Chris has gotten initiated finally lol. I was the one who got peed on constantly even after baths in the first 2 weeks. Now she has taken to not only peeing on him during diaper changes (Three times this morning, twice during the same diaper change), but she also had a diaper explosion in his lap followed by a trail of spit up down his shirt after a later diaper change. Kinda funny.
Ryleigh has a doctor appointment tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll remember to update about that. We'll see how that goes... I'm not being called by the fuss-bug... new photos are constantly being added still to Ryleigh's photos.

new photo album
I've started a new photo album of Ryleigh photos. The photos during the pregnancy are in the "pregnancy" photo album, and anything new will be posted in the "Ryleigh" photo album. Enjoy!
First week home
We've been adjusting to life with a baby. The first week home has flown by. Ryleigh had her first doctor appointment on Oct. 30. She's perfect. Lost a little weight and was down to 7lbs, 4oz (left hospital 2 days before at 7lbs 8oz). The doctor didn't seem to be too concerned. Then we had an appointment with the lactation consultant. Getting her to latch properly has been an issue, causing me tons of soreness. It's slowly getting better.
Initially, her days and nights were totally backwards. The first 2 days home were rough. She fussed and screamed and was wide awake those first 2 nights. We're also having problems getting her to lay on her back. She hates it! On the floor, in the crib, in the cradle... when we put her down sound asleep she wakes up within 5 minutes screaming. We've discovered we can get her to sleep up to 4 hours swaddled in the swing, so for now we've given in to just putting her in there at night. We're still working on the cradle. Hopefully in the next week or so.
In the past day or two we've noticed she has periods of awake where she is so alert. Yesterday she really didn't nap for longer than an hour at a time all day, and just sat in her swing and bouncer looking around.
Even though we're tired and some days grouchy, every day we're amazed by her and marvel at how precious she is (especially when she's asleep).
Now on to some pictures...
