Chris's parents came out this Spring during Linda's spring break, which just happened to coincide with Easter. So we got to celebrate Easter with Linda and Rusty!
They gave Ryleigh and Hayden their Easter presents a day early so they had time to play with them.
On Easter morning, Ryleigh got up, but Hayden was still sleeping! So we let her open our gift to her. It was a box from Kiwi Crate.
Kiwi Crate is a box subscription that has 2-3 age appropriate crafts for kids. All the supplies for the crafts are in the box. She liked how they sent her scissors since it was her first box. In this box they has supplies to make your own paper, and to make your own stamps and use them on a paper tote bag. It was the Earth Day kit.
When Hayden woke up, he also got to open his box. He got one from Citrus Lane.
He got a book... coupon for a free card...
snack bowls...
And a new car!
After Hayden opened his box, Ryleigh read her card from the Easter Bunny.
And then she read Hayden's card from the Easter Bunny. After she read the cards, she got the clues to where the baskets were hiding.
He first clue was supposed to take her to her art desk - obviously she didn't quite catch the clue.
Hayden's trying to help too - or get into trouble... likely the latter. She finally realized she was in the wrong spot.
Then the clue on her art desk sent her to the toy cabinets. She found the clue, but not the new toy! Hayden found the new toy!
A new golf set since Ryleigh doesn't like sharing her pink set.
While Ryleigh goes off to figure out the next clue...
Hayden's determined to go golfing.
Finally one of the clues was "Where Hayden loves to play." Ryleigh went to his cozy coupe truck, activity table, etc. We asked Hayden where he liked to play and he ran to the pantry and opened the door.
And he was looking for all kinds of stuff to play with - this time a z-bar. He totally missed his "basket" by his feet.
"WHAT? I have to play with this instead of my Zbar?"
He got new pacis, a sand shovel to play with in the water table. And new Julbo sunglasses.
Ryleigh was off for more clues. This one took her by the front door.
To find a T-ball set!
And finally the clue said "go look around where you eat." And right behind her chair in the hutch was her basket.
But that wasn't all. Mom and Dad decided to work with EB for an added surprise. We realized that Hayden wasn't quite ready for a trike, but he was almost too big to put into the stroller all the time. Especially for walks at night. So we got him a ride on trike, that we can push for now, and will convert as he grows to a trike he can pedal on his own without us steering or pushing it. You can tell he LOVES his big boy bike!
Ryleigh needed a bike too. We've been encouraging her to ride her bike more now getting her ready to ride without training wheels. But we noticed her bike was WAY too small for her. So we had to get an bigger model. She had to do a double take because both her bikes are the same color, both had training wheels, both princesses, etc. The only difference was the size. So she goes out in the garage and was like "wait, theres... two???" She's getting the hang of her new bike. We're keeping the old one around with the training wheels off so she can use it to learn how to ride a bike when the time comes (likely in the fall when it's cooler!).
