19 months - Already?!

Another month has flown by. Ryleigh is 19 months old today.

In the last month her vocabulary has exploded! She is a total jabberjaws now! She is trying to say more and more words. I showed Chris that she knew how to say "cereal bar", then just to see what else she could say, we asked her to day "ah bumpers" (from her favorite show "Chuggington"). She repeated it perfectly! She's also become a climber. She is always climbing on and off the couch. She HAS to empty out one of the baskets her play food is in and turn it upside down so she can climb up on it and play with her kitchen. She takes her babies "shopping" A LOT complete with purse, keys, and phone! She never leaves the house without a bow or hat on and a juice cup in hand. She likes to dance. Any music that comes on gets a little arm bob or booty shake. And her new thing is in the car she raises her hands and pumps them to the music, along with a little body wiggle.

Here is the little diva with her sunglasses (she HAD to wear), raising the roof to the music. Apparently she liked the song - LOTS!!!

Rollerblading at the beach

Today I was on call, but the caseload was light, so we decided to go rollerblading at the beach. We haven't rollerbladed in over 2 years since before I got pregnant with Ryleigh. It took a few minutes to get adjusted to the motions again, but it all came back. We had a great time and Chris and I realized just how out of shape we are. We know we will be hurting tomorrow. Ryleigh came along for the ride.

It was chilly at the beach today. Only about 65 degrees or less and VERY windy (which added to the workout!).
All Done. Putting things away.

Ryleigh was really tired on the way home. She normally rocks her head back and forth to the music she likes. Today she had her hand in the air kinda pounding to the music in her tired stupor.

We couldn't park in our parking garage due to some maintenance being done, so we had to park across the street. On our mini-walk home, Ryleigh stopped to smell some flowers.

And after her nap, while mom was at the craft store, Ryleigh decided to steal mom's computer and do a little web surfing.

18 Month Check up!

Ryleigh had her 18 month old check up today. She weighs 23.4 pounds and is 33 inches tall (we didn't get percentiles at this visit, maybe they don't matter as much anymore?). She is totally on track with all of her development. She loved sitting in the seat that they have attached to the scale to weigh babies. She kept asking to get in it and refused to get out. She got 3 shots. Despite her hysterics during her shots (took mommy and daddy to hold her down), she's such a trooper and even asked to walk out of the doctors office. Tonight Chris taught her how to take off her own bandaids in the bath and she didn't even shed a tear when she took them off :)

Reno Trip Day 6 - Coming back to the Bugger

Sunday we came back to Phoenix.

Ryleigh went to the mall with Gramma and Grampa. She got some sunglasses at the Disney Store as well as a mini princess soccer ball. Diva in the making.

More water table!
From April 2010

When we got home, she was playing at the water table and pretty much could care less that we were home. She had her water table, she was happy!

But we did discover last night that she likes salad. She chose salad over rice... don't know who's child she is?!

Back to LA today...

Reno Trip Day 5 - Hotel Walk

By Saturday, Chris and I had decided we'd had enough of the smoke in the casino. We began to notice how it was effecting us in terms of breathing, stuffy nose, headaches, appetite. We really get spoiled in California where people have to smoke outside. So we decided that we needed a walk outside. After another early morning session for me, and interviewing more people, we took a quick nap.

First stop on our walk was the candy shop in our hotel. They had lots of salt water taffy and lots of candies that are hard to find.

Then onto our walk. The snow is starting to melt.

The hotel has a driving range where people try to land on these little floating islands in the lake.

They started Cinco De Mayo activities while we were there too.

Saturday was also the big boxing fight. It was on all over the hotel. Almost every TV throughout the hotel had it. This is in front of where my meeting was. Earlier in the day the tv had the convention activities on it. People pulled up benches and seats from wherever they could find them just to watch the fight. And there were groups like this all over the hotel, not just in the bars.

Reno Trip Day 4 - Friday

Friday was another conference day for me. Chris enjoyed playing blackjack in the casino, and I was learning and visiting with people I hadn't seen in years. (Amazing to realize I've been in my profession so long that it's been 4 years since I've seem some of my classmates.) I also had to interview a bunch of people for a position we have at Cedars. Friday morning I went to the breakfast part of the meeting, Went to brunch with Chris, then went to get a massage at the spa while Chris went to the Casino.

We didn't take many photos in Reno, but my parents took a lot of Ryleigh.
This is my rocking chair from when I was little. Ryleigh loved it!

Reno Trip Day 3 - Ryleigh's fun

Here's what Ryleigh was up to while we were exploring our hotel.

My parents got a sand and water table. She LOVED it!! I wanted to get her one for her birthday, but we just don't have the room for it. So at least she can enjoy it at someone else's house.
