Halloween 2011

For Halloween, Midwestern University (the school I work at) has a big Safe Trick or Treat events for all of the students' and staff's kids and the community. The kids go to all the different department offices to trick or treat.

I picked Ryleigh up from school early and brought her back to my office to get dressed.

Here's miss Tinker Bell ready to go!! (She won't take a decent picture without standing in this pose. If you don't tell her to put her hands on her hips she has to be fidgeting with something or falling all over her own feet.)

She clopped around to all the offices a lot faster than last year. I thought it was cool that the copy center handed out little orange bound notebooks and the college of dental medicine handed out toothbrushes and toothpaste! She thought the toothbrush was the coolest treat ever. She went to say hi to all my "new" students and when they asked her what she got, she pulled out her toothbrush. After visiting the students, we headed out the all of the events they had for the kids.
There was a big blow up bouncer and slide. Ironically, this kid she slid down with goes to her daycare. His name is Parker, and he's 6 months older than Ryleigh. Parker's dad is the Assistant Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

After she gave up on the bouncers, we headed toward the pinata... but were side tracked. Ryleigh decided to join a cake walk and won a cupcake. Then we went to go sit down and eat the cupcake and were distracted again by cookie decorating. Both items we had to eat before we could leave! So we sat down to eat all the sugary goodness! Then we headed home to eat dinner before Trick or Treating for the night.

My parents came over and brought dinner. After dinner, Ryleigh got all dressed up again to get some more candy! She was so excited, she couldn't stand still enough for a good picture!

I knew those shoes would be a problem after she had issues walking around campus with them on. I tried to convince her to wear other ones, but she insisted....
"oop! MY SHOE!!"

She made it around half of our street before giving up! :)

We did get to meet some of the neighbors though. This is for Chris's reference:
We live next to Tony and April. They have a little girl named Joscelyn (Josie) who was born in June.
Tony and April live next to Russell who is a retired military guy with a big dog and interesting stories. He moved from Kingman.
Next to Russell is John and Lisa. They also have a very well behaved big dog! They were the ones sitting on the sidewalk handing out candy.
Across the street from John and Lisa is Damon and I didn't meet his wife. They have the little boy Jackson, who's 2. That's as far as I got around the street before Ryleigh made me quit.

Ryleigh got a lot of goodies, and it was nice to get out and meet our neighbors. We've been cramped up inside all summer it was nice to see everyone out. We had a wonderful Halloween :)
