Ryleigh's Birthday

On Ryleigh's actual birthday, I decided to take the day off so she could have a special day. Her friend, Claire, from dance, invited Ryleigh to go to the Wildlife World Zoo for a play date. We have not been to any of the zoos in Phoenix before, so we were excited to go!

We started at the Kangaroo Walkabout. You go inside with the kangaroos and they hop across the path that you're supposed to walk on.
This is a Wallaby eating the leaves on a tree. They are separated from the Kangaroos because they're apparently meaner than the Kangaroos.

This is the Kangaroo house. It was feeding time.

This guy was just chilling in the sun watching us.

And here's a momma. See the Joey in her pouch!

They had lots of different monkeys. And these guys were very playful swinging all over their cage!

Eventually we got to monkey island where the girls wanted to feed the ducks.

We saw Rhinos.

And Ryleigh's favorite - Giraffes!!

She got to feed him "giraffe M&Ms". They gobbled the little pellets up like candy, so that's what we started calling the pellets.

After the zoo, we went to get Ryleigh's hair cut. Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. That was Ryleigh's choice. She loves Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets. Then it was time for a nap!!
After her nap, I gave her a present - a stuffed Roo from Winnie the Pooh. The Winnie the Pooh movie came out on her birthday, so we took Roo and went to the Disney store to get the movie. My mom was (ironically) already at the mall, so she met us there. Ryleigh had fun looking around the Disney store. She kept telling us she wanted this Rapunzel doll. We got the movie and then went home to see what daddy wanted to do for dinner. We decided to meet at Subway and then go get frozen yogurt (again Ryleigh's request). Grandma and Grandpa met us there. There was a huge rain storm while we were at subway. We thought we'd get soaked going out to our car. But typical Arizona weather, it stopped just as quickly as it started. And at the frozen yogurt place, it was a discount day!! Ryleigh got Pink ribbon Vanilla and Orange swirl along with an assortment of toppings. Then we went home for presents.

We gave her most of her birthday presents at her party, but we saved a few for her special day. The first was one we knew she'd love.

The Rapunzel doll she kept telling us she wanted at the Disney Store!!! I picked it up several weeks ago without her knowing. You can tell she loves it!

And the other present was her new LeapPad. She wanted a VReader, but this one reads books to her and so much more. It's definitely a present she'll grow into!

By the look on her cheesy face, it seems like she had a great 3rd birthday!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to my Big Little Bugger!!!

Three years ago we were blessed with an opinionated, independent baby girl. Yes, this baby girl had a mind of her own from day 1!
From Pruett Family

She was the happiest baby, so inquisitive and determined.
From Ryleigh's 1st bday

The crazy, silly girl came out in the toddler - along with the terrible 2's!
From 2010_10 October

And now my baby and toddler are long gone and have been replaced by a sophisticated, brilliant (big) little girl! My little girl is so intuitive. Nothing gets past her. She loves books. She measures weeks by days until the next dance class or football game. Her favorite color is pink and she loves twirly skirts! She loves going "running" with us every weekend in the jogging stroller and has a fit when she doesn't get to go. She's currently a mommy's girl. I'm amazed at the little person that's developed in the past 3 years and I can't wait to see what she blossoms into in the next year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby girl!! Mommy and Daddy love you very much!!

Now it was time to put together the toys and play!!

Ryleigh had to take her new "babe" for a stroll on the rocking horse stroller and stop to take some pictures of her babe. (She calls her baby her "babe" - no idea where she got it from!)

Time to feed baby. She got the new high chair from GG.

After dinner it was time for cupcakes!! Earlier in the day, after dance class, I took Ryleigh to the mall for a surprise. I didn't tell her where we were going until we were in Sweet Daddy Cupcakes in Arrowhead mall. They have fantastic cupcakes! She got to pick out whatever cupcake she wanted. Of course she picked the Pink Cadillac. On the way home, she decided to shake her cupcake in the container, so mom had to try to fix the frosting when we got home. Thus the lop sided cupcake frosting. Happy Birthday to you...

After dinner, she stole her friend Kristin and wouldn't let her go. She made Kristin read her book after book... Ryleigh loves her friend Kristin. According to Ryleigh, Kristin is the one who said Ryleigh could get so big!

It was a great party. So nice to hang out with family and enjoy our new house! Ryleigh had a great 3rd Birthday party!!

After we opened some big presents upstairs, we headed downstairs for the rest of the tour. There was a detour in the kitchen for some lunch.

Then the tour continued out to the backyard to show off the pool. And there was another present waiting outside for Ryleigh. It was a basketball hoop. Now she can get outside and enjoy the nice weather that's finally coming!

We all went back inside for PRESENTS!! Ryleigh was so excited! We let her choose her first present and of course she picked the one wrapped in Rapunzel paper. She LOVES Rapunzel!!

Daddy read her the cards.

She got a new scarf and hat from Auntie Kim and Uncle Bill. Love the color!

Berenstain bears books from Grandma and Grandpa. Didn't know those books were still around. Apparently Mama and Papa Bear had a baby between the late '80s and now.
From 2011 Fall

Love her face. My mom found a princess card that sang when it was opened. Ryleigh was very confused/ perplexed/ in awe of it. Love her facial expressions.

Disney Princess clothes from Grandma and Grandpa.

Disney Princess PJs with ALL the princesses! (Including Rapunzel!)

She had to show off the card, just like they show books they're reading at school.
From 2011 Fall

Ryleigh got a camera from Uncle Chris and Kristin. We saw it at Costco and she hated to part with it. Whenever I'd mention Costco, she'd tell me we were going to go down the toy aisle and find the toy and go "cheese!" You can tell how excited she was to open it (even with the blurry photo).
From 2011 Fall

She immediately made Chris and Kristin put it together for her.
From 2011 Fall

Purple Unicorn Pillow Pet from Uncle Cory that she had to sleep with for the past few nights. She begged to take it to school this morning.
From 2011 Fall

New boots for the winter.
From 2011 Fall

She is such a neat little girl. She picked up her own wrapping paper and put it right in the trash. Guess we have her trained well.
From 2011 Fall

New clothes from the Slavin Family. This would be a cute Christmas outfit.
From 2011 Fall

Apparently this one was hard to get open.
From 2011 Fall

Cute new sweater. She poses well.
From 2011 Fall

D-squared (my friend Courtney) got Ryleigh this adorable leotard. I love the lace of the sleeves and the skirt. It's gorgeous!
From 2011 Fall

I got Ryleigh a few necklaces from Miss Coco Designs made by a high school friend. As you can see by Ryeigh's face, she LOVED THEM!!! Thanks Corie :)

From 2011 Fall

She had to put it on immediately. She loved that it had a cupcake on it!
From 2011 Fall

Never seen a kid so proud to get a "noisy toothbrush."
From 2011 Fall

New PediPeds for the holidays.
From 2011 Fall

She couldn't be patient and keep opening presents any longer. She had to stop and read a book that she got.
From 2011 Fall

This is another Costco find. Ryleigh saw it and again, begged for it. I told her she'd have to wait until her birthday and maybe someone would get it for her. I hadn't told my mom that she wanted it, last weekend my mom sent me a picture of it saying she was getting it for Ryleigh. I knew Ryleigh would be super excited. And she definitely was.
"This is the one I wanted"
From 2011 Fall

She was so excited about it, she had to go grab her new camera to take a picture of her new baby.

And last but not least, was a trampoline from GG. She has been holding onto counters, etc and jumping, so this is perfect!
From 2011 Fall

She loves it!!
