Ohio Day 2

Today we went to Church. Then we went shopping for a few things, and spent most of the day relaxing. After dinner, we played Wii. We had a 4 player bowling competition going on. There was some heavy competition between Chris and his mom for 1st :)

Here's Ryleigh's Wii Bowling pose:

Good family times :)

Ohio Day 1

Saturday, we left for Ohio. The day before we left Ryleigh was sick. She had a runny nose, low grade fever, swollen sinuses. All in all she just felt icky. Took her to the after hours doctor and found out she has an ear infection caused by a head cold. 3 doses of antibiotics, some heavy use of the humidifier, and she was feeling much better by the time we took off.

Here's the sick little girl playing around before we got on the plane.
From 2010_11 November

We gave her some pain medicine, and some numbing ear drops before we got on the plane, and she was still a happy camper with baby Cinderella.
From 2010_11 November

I thought Ryleigh was going to have a rough take off, but she did great. No crying, no complaining. I'm not even sure she noticed the pressure change. She played with baby, read some books, watched half of a Tinkerbell movie, and fell asleep for over an hour. Overall it was a great flight.

Here's Ryleigh stretching her legs with a little dancing while we wait to get the rental car.

Told you she was a happy camper!

Ready for the drive to Ohio.

This is how she spent most of the drive to Ohio - glued to the videos on her ipod.

(Thanks Dad for letting us borrow the ipod, it's been a lifesaver!! Even watched it in church today. She did the "OMG the world is ending cry when we told her it ran out of battery" lol).

Design Center Visit

Today we went to pick out all the options for our new house. Chris has been crunching numbers for 2 weeks, so we were very thoroughly prepared, we knew about what to expect, and how much it was going to cost us. We left very excited about our decisions, and can't wait to see it all come together.

This is the laminate counter top (lighter color) for the counter/sink in the laundry room. Tile for the laundry room and all bathrooms. Also the grout color for that tile.
From Agave

12x24 porcelain tile and carpet.

Our kitchen! The color of our cabinets (in back), the backsplash (2 rows of the bigger subway tiles, and the smaller glass tiles on top), Our countertop (off white color), kitchen tile (grey bottom tile). The grout for the floor and backsplash is in the lower right next to the tile.

2 year update

Today Ryleigh went to the doctor for her 2 year well baby check up. She is 25.4lbs (28%), 33.75 inches (49%) tall, and has a head circumference of 19 inches (71%!!!). We liked the new doctor. Thought she was very nice, and made the whole doctor experience very pain free. She said Ryleigh's vocabulary, sentence structure and skills (counting to 10) put her in the range of a normal 3 year old. She gave us another trick to try on Ryleigh's ears, as she thinks it's eczema. So we'll have to go back to see her in a few weeks to see if it clears up.

After we went to the doctor, we went to visit the model of our new house (!) to check out a few design options out before we go to the design studio. As we're in the kitchen discussing likes/dislikes Ryleigh was just roaming around. Then I noticed something... her shoes were OFF. When I asked her where she put them, she ran to the stairs and said "right here!"

From 2010_11 November

Right on the stairs. Right where they "go". At Grampa's house she always takes off her shoes first thing when she gets in the house and sticks them on the stairs. She was making herself at home!!
Then we went upstairs to the bedrooms to see if we liked anything in there. In the princess room, this is what we found:

Ryleigh was wearing the slippers that were on the nightstand.
Then we moved toward the loft and I hear sounds and Ryleigh talking to herself. This is what I found:

Ryleigh coloring on the chalkboard easel! Definitely making herself at home!!

Halloween 2010

Midwestern has a trick or treat on campus every year for the kids of the students and staff. The kids go around to all the different offices that want to participate and trick or treat. I was amazed how many kids were there!! They have a little carnival set up too.

Minnie Mouse had to come pick up Mommy to go trick or treating.

She started posing. Here's one of her new ones with a cheeseball face.

Halloween day I went over to my parents house to make some cake balls for their annual Halloween cul-de-sac potluck. All the neighbors came out and we ate dinner in the middle of the cul-de-sac. Then they have a table set up with all the candy for the cul-de-sac. Each household is in charge of keeping their bowl/basket full, and the dads monitored the trick or treaters. It was a lot of fun. A few old neighbors who have moved out of the circle came back to to visit. It was nice catching up with everyone.
Here's Ryleigh's Trick or Treating adventures:

The other circle behind my parents had the same idea, so Ryleigh had to do just one stop and she hit the jackpot!

She's become little miss bossy, especially with Gramma and Grampa. She tells them where to go, what to do, and when they have to come and play. Here she is taking Gramma somewhere. Look at that serious face.

But most of the night, she just chilled in the beach chair in the middle of the street next to Grampa.

Ryleigh's Actual Birthday

Ryleigh's actual birthday was last Monday. We saved a few small presents for her to open on her actual birthday. She opened them when I came home for lunch.

From 2010_10 October
They FINALLY make CHUGGINGTON toys!!! Ryleigh would watch this show every day, multiple times a day during the summer. She'd constantly ask for "chug chug" and of course all summer the toys weren't out because the show was so new.
From 2010_10 October
Now we find the toys (she got Koko and Puffer Pete) and she's moved on to Mickey Mouse Club and forgot who the Chuggington characters are :( She still likes her choo choos though.
From 2010_10 October
She also got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse book.
From 2010_10 October
Which she obviously loves.

Mommy and Gramma wanted to do something special for Ryleigh's special day, so we took her to get a manicure/ pedicure. She loved picking out her color and seeing her pretty fingers and toes.

Pretty nails!!
