Ryleigh's school had a Christmas program where each class performed a song. After the big program, they invited all the parents back to the classrooms to see the kids perform the song one more time to get better pictures. Ryleigh's class did "We are Santa's Elves" from Rudolph.
This year for dance, Ryleigh was invited to be part of a "pre-company" group. Basically, all the girls in the group are too young to try out formally for company. So they were sort of grooming them and slowly immersing them into what being in a company group is like. They started in the summer with Jazz working on their facials, technique, and already started doing their competition routine. In the fall they put their competition routine on hold and started working on a Christmas routine to perform at Glendale Glitters. Glendale Glitters is in downtown Glendale and everything is covered in lights. People and businesses have tents out there around this main square selling stuff, there's food trucks... and on the weekends in this amphitheater, there's performances by all kinds of song and dance groups. The company groups from Ryleigh's studio performed many of their competition numbers as well as some Christmas themed ones.
Here is Ryleigh and her friend Claire backstage. Claire and Ryleigh have been dancing together since they started at 2.5 years old and at times were the only two in some of their classes.
Here is their entire Pee Wee/ Pre-Company group - Shelbilyn, Brynn, Emme, Brenna, Claire, Ryleigh, Ava, Alexis, Ava.
We went to see Santa on day and this is what Ryleigh put on her letter to the North Pole. Can you tell what she's asking Santa for?
("I want a kit [no idea what the "id" is supposed to mean] rubberband." - She wants a Rainbow Loom kit to make rubber bracelets.)
Right before Christmas, missy got her hair cut - lots! She wanted it shorter but I wouldn't let her get it too short yet. Wanted her to be sure she liked it short first. She's turning into such a BIG girl!
